Being in my 50s it’s now very real I need comfortable shoes. I surrender. That being said I wanted something that looked good and did not make me feel like I had lost all sense of style. But I had to confront comfort was the top priority.
My daughter bought me awesome Veja sneakers. Sadly they just did not feel right. I tried and tried but something was not quite right. I still have them as somehow I hope something will change. But the hunt continued. I bought 3 different pairs and returned them all, too chunky, too stiff, not quite right.
I love my converse but alas that is how I got plantar fasciitis. Too flat a shoe and searing pain in my foot that was fixed by moving into shoes with a cushion. Now I know foot wear is hotly debated bare foot, too much cushion, too flat, too much arch… I won’t go into these details. I simply need to walk the dog, enjoy getting dressed, feel half decent and possibly cool and get some movement.
The Reebok C 85 Vintage looked good on line and gave me hope. Chalk is a little off white so not so bright and shiny.
They were purchased. And they passed the test. They are comfortable! I am still not 100% sure if they’d work for travelling as they are a bit flat but they feel great for 1 hour walks with the dog. I do have a pair of Saucony running shoes that I wear if I feel I need extra support on some days.
But I can throw these Reebok’s on with jeans and feel put together.
I always wondered how people just throw a few things on and look great but I realize that’s not quite how it happens. Some thought does go into it. And a lot of thought and research and scrolling of the internet went into finding the right shoe for me.
So I have put it here in “stuff I love” because movement and having the right gear to head out and go for a walk is important. And the price point was not excessive. I got them on sale for $89 Canadian. And I hope it inspires you to have a walking out fit you love that may entice you to move more. That being said having a dog really helps to keep me active!
Enjoy!
