How to prepare for a diet.

Nov 15, 2014 | Updates | 0 comments

A few things you can starting doing now to prepare for a diet program include: cutting out refined sugars, increase your veggies to 4 cups a day, up up up the water to 8 glasses (8oz glasses) a day and decrease stress levels.

If you are want to start making some lifestyle changes now, as you prepare to start a diet, here is a grocery list of some items we recommend you start adding to your next shopping trip.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Olive Oil, Udo’s Oil, Grape Seed Oil for variety
  • Dijon Mustard
  • Free Range Eggs
  • Chicken
  • Lean Meat
  • White Fish – frozen for extra on hand
  • Romaine Lettuce Hearts keep well for the week
  • Cucumber
  • Broccoli
  • Greens – collards, kale, chard, spinach
  • Green Beans (1x/week only)
  • Herbal Teas (no fruit teas)
  • Regular Milk – 1oz per day maximum for coffee
  • Sweetener (i.e. stevia) if you need it in your coffee or tea
  • Water Bottle – for your car, bag, work
  • We recommend the Cerra Water Pitcher for alkaline water: it’s totally effective and very affordable.

You may have noticed by reading this grocery list that the vegetables listed are mostly low glycemic veggies. Our weight loss program follows the glycemic index for many scientific reasons. For one thing, limiting insulin production is key to weight loss. Insulin is a hormone that is produced when we eat foods that contain sugars, even natural sugars from things like apples or carrots. When we eliminate certain foods and follow these simple metabolic principles, weight loss is no longer what many people think it is, “a matter of will power”, but instead it becomes a scientifically measurable method for losing fat.

Another amazing result of this diet is that your body is becoming clean, your cells are breathing better, your skin is healthy and glowing and your body all together is becoming an alkaline environment in which disease has a hard time breeding. Beside the actually weight loss and the relief of feeling good in one’s body, this diet plan has countless other benefits to a dieter’s health. With the help of their doctors, we see dieters decrease medications that they have been on for years because losing weight has a major positive impact on many functions of the organs, cells and tissues to name a few.

Back to the grocery list and preparing for this diet! You will be surprised upon seeing the full list of vegetables, seasonings, meats, fish and oils. You will have abundant variety in your foods. This diet is truly so pleasurable. You can keep it simple (like the French do) or you can be a total Chef extraordinaire on the diet. It’s up to you. Either way, you will feel amazing in mind and body and you will get results that you never thought possible before.
