Everything in life is a choice, including weight loss. Change has the potential of bringing an unlimited number of positive effects to your life, if you’re ready for it. Although it isn’t easy, each of us has the power to reset our routines, making the “time” to be healthy. 

If you’re tired of feeling stressed, overweight, unhealthy, and fed up with feeling as if you’re not in full control of your own life, then it’s time to shake things up. Implementing positive, long-term change in your life starts with addressing your daily routine. Our weight loss coaches have put together some tips to help take you from mentally stressed, to strong. Implement these habits into your daily routine for a happier, healthier you.

  • Exercise: Exercising before you start work or to drop off the kids in the morning will set the tone for your day, leaving you feeling accomplished, energized, and clear-minded.
  • Commit to a nutritious dinner, every night: Eating a clean dinner won’t upset the stomach or keep you up at night from ingredients such as caffeine, sugar, and other preservatives allowing you to fall asleep more easily. If you need dinner ideas browse the healthy, Ideal Protein Recipes.
  • Sleep: Going to bed an hour earlier can provide big results the following morning, leaving you feeling refreshed and energized. 

Creating space in your already hectic schedule for new habits is no easy feat, especially for women whose responsibilities include taking care of their families, co-workers, friendships, and working. Women often don’t feel empowered to put themselves (and their health) first. Unfortunately, the hard truth is, if you’re worn down, stressed, and easily irritated, you’re not going to be the best version of you for the people in your life who need you most: partner/spouse, kids, coworkers, family, and friends.

At Vital Body one thing all of our clients notice when they commit to the Ideal Protein Protocol is that, by putting themselves first not only do they lose weight but they gain vitality. If you’re ready for positive change, here are two skills to master that will help you stay committed to exercise, healthy eating, and sleep so you can see the changes you want to see in your life.

1 – Do the most important thing first every day 

It sounds simple, but most of us don’t do it. Doing “it” first almost eliminates the possibility for cancellation or chance for anything “more important” to come in the way. For example, many of us find exercise daunting, instead of dreading it all day just to put it off when you get too tired or when something more pressing pops up, get it done right when you wake up. Tip: lay your work out clothes out the night before to help you keep your promise to yourself when you wake up. 

2 – Get good at saying no to other people, and do so frequently 

Turn down things that are inconsistent with your priorities. This will force you to ask yourself, “Does this fall in line with my priorities or goals?” If the answer is no, then your response to the invitation should be the same, “No.” Gaining back this time will allow you the opportunity to cook more at home, exercise, and catch up on missed sleep.
