If you type the words “best weight loss” into Google, you’ll find endless sites on how to lose weight, but often the real struggle for people is keeping weight off.
When it comes to weight loss, fad diets, trends, and pills usually only give you temporary results. They can cause yo-yo dieting, which often makes people feel frustrated and leads to low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. These feelings often fuel the decision to choose unhealthy foods, creating a vicious cycle.
Interestingly enough, at Vital Body we have noticed successful clients, those who lose weight and keep it off, tend to be the ones who do the inner work, such as meditation. They’re ready to confront their thoughts, feelings, love for self, and relationship with food. They’re willing to dig up emotional triggers and past traumas to better understand what triggers them and how that may have manifested into an unhealthy weight.
To address inner work, at Vital Body, our Weight Loss Coaches often suggest our clients try incorporating meditation into their wellness practice. For those who are open to doing the work and exploringe their relationship with food a great time to try meditating is before you eat. A short pre-meal meditation allows you to be grounded and present during your meal.
Whether you are familiar with or new to meditation, we recommend trying the guided meditation for weight loss: Before Eating, lead by Zan Romeder, Vital Body Owner and Weight Loss Coach.
You can access the guided meditation on the Mibo Musings website HERE.
If you plan to listen to it before your next meal you might also want to try writing down any changes you noticed in your eating and awareness to maximize your meditation and weight loss results.
